What does a luxury matchmaker do?

The work behind a single introduction: selection, discretion, and the part no algorithm performs.

A luxury matchmaker is retained by one person to find another. That is the whole of the job description and almost none of the work.

In practice, a private matchmaker conducts a confidential intake, builds a precise picture of who a client is and who would genuinely suit them, and then searches: first within an existing private network of vetted singles, and where necessary far beyond it.

Selection before search

The quality of an introduction is decided long before anyone meets. It is decided by who is admitted to the network, how carefully they are understood, and how honestly the matchmaker is willing to speak to both sides.

This is why membership of a serious private network is selective rather than open. A database anyone can join is not a network; it is a queue.

Discretion as method

For high-net-worth, ultra-high-net-worth and public clients, privacy is not a preference: it is a precondition. Profiles are never publicly browsable, introductions are made person to person, and information is shared only as far as an introduction requires.
